Beaufort, SC vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, SC attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking the bestrental:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. 212 Tennis Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC attraction you crave, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
