  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
