Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Historic Charm meets Modern Comfort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what is best for your trip.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
