Tips and Tricks to get the best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Summer is high season in Beaufort. To find the largest rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Historic Charm meets Modern Comfort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
