Tips for getting the best Beaufort, SC rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. DeepWater Peaceful Reflections has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.

- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
