Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in Beaufort. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the perfect rental home in Beaufort:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Cozy Cottage + Yard, Near Downtown, Parks & Trails, 15 min to Parris Island has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your group.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Advice for a great stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
