Tricks and tips to get the very best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose your prefect Beaufort, SC rental home:

  • Start by having your group select date ranges and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Beautiful Water Views, Huge Yard, Boat Dock, Private, Quiet, Minutes to Beaufort has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
