Tips for getting the perfect Fripp Island vacation property experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the best value, change your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 652 Newhaven Court - Ocean Views and 6 seat golf cart included has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
