Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Book your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in Fripp Island:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. 511 Sunsuite - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. Otherwise, email the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Beaufort, SC attraction you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
