Our top Vacation rental tips:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the best value, try changing your family's Beaufort, SC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Filter your rental search:

  • To start, have your family commit to trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 31 Veranda Beach - Three Bedroom House, Sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
