How to get the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Stunning Atlantic Ocean Views, Golf Cart Included - 31 Veranda Beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
