Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Beaufort, SC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 721 Sea Dragon Lane - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
