How to find the best rental home experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To get the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the best rental:
- Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Great Mid Island Location, Long Term Rentals Available, Major Renovations 2023! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
