Strategies to get the optimal rental experience:
When to visit Fripp Island & When to book:
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To get the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book the rightvacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Feeling FrippSea - Marsh Views - 4 Bedroom - 2 Golf Carts - Amenity Cards has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
