Our top Beaufort, SC rental home tips and tricks:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking your Beaufort, SC vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Lowcountry cottage sleeps 6 - close to PARRIS ISLAND, BEAUFORT and BEACHES. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
