Strategies for getting the best Beaufort vacation property experience:
When to visit Beaufort & When to book:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Historic Beaufort, South Carolina Near Hilton Head, SC, New Renovation, Sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
