Strategies to get the best Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:
When to visit Beaufort & When to book:
- To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Bungalow in the Historic District! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is right for your family.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
