Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Beaufort, SC vacation rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Reserve your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by having your family select trip dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Bungalow in the Historic District! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, SC destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Know before you go:

  • Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
