Tricks and tips to get the perfect Fripp Island vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting the best vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Relaxing beachfront condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
