Finding the best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Summer is high season in Beaufort. To get the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Beaufort:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Modern Comfort in the desirable Mossy Oaks neighborhood with many upgrades! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
