How to find the best Beaufort, SC vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation home in the Beaufort, SC area:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. Guest Suite Near Parris Island has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
