Tips for getting the best rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area travel guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 501 Sunsuite - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Beaufort, SC beach you are enamored with, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
