Tricks and tips for getting the best Fripp Island vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, SC area. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 230 Tennis Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
