Rental home booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Beaufort, SC area:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. 230 Tennis Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
