Finding the best Beaufort, SC rental experience:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book your Beaufort, SC rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 344 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
