Rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the best rental home value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 344 Capt John Fripp Villa - New to VRBO! Resort Access Included! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Beaufort, SC destination you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
