About Tales of the Lowcountry

Historical Tours
We offer a two hour walking tour or a one hour airconditioned van tour jam packed with over 500 years of history, folktales, and hollywood lore surrounding our beloved Beaufort by the sea.

Ghost Tours
We visit all the local "haunts" intertwining ghost tales with the history of Beaufort. Come hear tales of folks buried alive, ghost trains, Pirates, voo doo, and so much more. We also attempt to capture E.V.P.s while the tour is in progress.

We offer a ghost walk which takes us through the oldest graveyard in downtown and out into the heart of the historical district to visit the Grenache. We end our tour on Baystreet. We recommend comfortable shoes and strollers/wagons for small children.

We offer a ghost van tour which take us by the graveyard, through the historical district, and out to one of our most haunted islands. Air-conditioning provided.

Beaufort, SC History

The native Indians were living here seasonally as early as 4000 BC. Evidence of early settlement remains today in the form of a 3400 year old "Indian shell ring" in Hilton Head Island's Sea Pines Forest Preserve.
