Tricks and tips for getting the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, SC area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Lowcountry cottage sleeps 6 - close to PARRIS ISLAND, BEAUFORT and BEACHES. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your agreement.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Considerations for your stay:

  • Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
