Historic Downtown Beaufort Paddle
duration: 1.5-2 hours
meeting_point: Safe Harbor Beaufort, 1006 Bay St, Beaufort, SC 29902
description: Discover downtown Beaufort like never before—from the water at high tide, where history and Southern charm come together for an unforgettable kayak experience.
We’ll paddle along the scenic riverfront, past the iconic swing bridge, and beneath the shadows of gracious waterfront homes framed by moss-draped oaks. The higher tide gives us access to narrow passageways and calm backwaters that reveal a quieter, more intimate view of the town’s timeless beauty.
As we glide along, your guide will share centuries-old stories and local legends that bring Beaufort’s rich past to life—from colonial roots to ghostly tales still whispered today. You'll also hear about the area's starring roles in Hollywood hits.
Perfect for history buffs, movie lovers, and anyone who wants to see Beaufort from a unique perspective, this tour offers the best of the Lowcountry—storytelling, scenery, and Southern soul—all in one paddle.
