Sharks help maintain the delicately balanced ecosystems that keep our oceans healthy. However, the challenges facing this critical apex predator are many, and seemingly overwhelming. More than 100 million are slaughtered every year for their fins. Come learn about shark from a scientific perspective and get a better understanding of these creatures with a biologist lead shark dissection.
Duration
2 Hours including a short presentation and an in depth dissection.
About
We have 16 Dogfish sharks available for dissection, and we recommend 1 per family. These specimens resulted from by-catch and are being used to provide an experience that aims to educate and raise awareness about shark conservation.
All equipment provided. We do not recommend this program for children younger than 6, and children 6 and under will need parental assistance with equipment.
