Tips to get the very best Beaufort, SC rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • To book the largest rental home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best rental home in Beaufort:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Superior King Room at The Emerald has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking

Have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
