Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, SC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation rental:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean Front Hot Spot on Fripp Islands Best Beach - Next Door to Beach Club!!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, SC rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
