Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Port Royal. Reserve your Beaufort, SC rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • In the Beaufort, SC area, The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Make a plan and choose yourvacation home:

  • To start, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. High Tides & Positive Vibes 2BR Riverfront Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • During check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
