Beaufort rental booking tips and tricks:

When to go & When to book:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, SC area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, SC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Tranquil Oasis Close to Beaches, Shops & Attractions has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If not, call the host before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
