  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
