Once upon a time, there was a place called the Low Country- land of salt marshes, herons and hawks, Marines and pluff mud (look it up!!) Our special place, "Once Upon a Tide", has 3 bedrooms, 2 full bath, and sits directly on a deep water tidal marsh where the kayaking is extraordinary.The home is located in a peaceful neighborhood within walking or cycling distance to historic downtown Beaufort, and right out your front door is the Spanish Moss Trail with more miles of cycling, walking and running trails. Beaufort has been selected as one of the South's most photogenic towns because of its fascinating history, splendid old churches, graceful mansions, and spectacular waterfront park and harbor. Sit in a swing or walk historic Bay Street with its great waterfront eateries, stores and art galleries. Further afield you can visit Hunting Island State Park where you can climb to the top of the famed lighthouse, go to Penn Center, Hilton Head Island, Charleston and Savannah.

The home was completely modernized in 2017-a new opulent kitchen, wood floors, baths, windows-the whole package! You will feel like you've gone back in time with historic and Re-purposed furnishings, but it has all the modern comforts and happiness! In addition to the open space living, dining, kitchen areas, there are two bedrooms (one ensuite) with queen beds and two sets of bunk beds in the third bedroom. All are furbished with quality beds, fine linens, and fluffy towels. Forgot your beach towel? We give those,too.

Watch the gentle ebb and flow of the tide waters from the screened porch or on the open outdoor space and relish the varied wild life that inhabit and migrate through the Low country.There is much to do, and experience in Beaufort and we hope "Once Upon a Tide" will give you with a timeless visit!
