Well “Castaway Cottage” is the place that will fill your island and beach desires!

This home is set on a huge tropical, shaded location across the street from the Beach! Hear the ocean waves crash as you sit on the huge screened in porch, or slide the doors open to experience more of an open air living experience.

Canal in the back yard with some of the best fishing opportunities on Fripp Island!

Remodeled and refreshed open floor plan home with a separate apartment.

The apartment is located on ground level with an open floor plan. A bright dining area, cavernous living room that is surrounded by windows, a kitchenette, full size bathroom and bedroom with 1 Queen and 1 Full size bed.

Upstairs is the main home with an open floor plan, well appointed full size kitchen, dining room area and roomy living room that walks out to a sizable screened in porch!

Two King Master en-suites with sliding glass doors that lead out to the porch. An additional bedroom with 1 Queen and 1 Full bed for a total of 8 that can sleep upstairs!

The enormous backyard leads to a dock that is ideal for fishing, kayaking or boating.

The uncrowded beach access is right across the street. A ramped boardwalk makes beach fun even more effortlessly accessible! No stairs!

Castaway Cottage will consider family pets. We don't want to leave our pets at home so we would like to plan that you don't have to either. We do charge a modest pet fee, cheaper than most places charge to board.

A few notes about the island - We are club members which means that the Club luxury cards are available for purchase.

The Fripp Island Club requires luxury cards for you to frequent their amenities. These amenities include golfing, playing tennis, going to the eateries on Fripp, going to the swimming pools and the exercise room.

The conveniences card prices for stays that are 1-4 days are $35 during the summer months and $25 during Fall, Winter and Spring.

The luxury card prices for stays that are 5-8 days are $50 during the summer months and $35 during Fall, Winter and Spring.

Each guest 13 years or older must carry an luxury card to access the Club's facilities.
There are a few places on Fripp Island that you do not need an conveniences card. SpringTide Market is at the front of the island that has a large menu at their deli. From breakfast sandwiches to family BBQ meals, there is a lot to choose from. There is also a deli at the Marina that serves sandwiches and salads. The Fripp Ship and Mango stores are fun to go into for your ideal souvenir.

***Don't forget to book your golf cart when making your reservation. Just ask us as we have a preferred list of golf cart providers.

About the Area

Located in Saint Helena Island, this vacation home is near the beach. Local points of interest include Ocean Point Golf Course, Hunting Island Lighthouse, and Penn Center. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Beaufort, SC restaurants and activities.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.

  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective.
