  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. More tips for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to relay any damages. • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
