Finding the best rental experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • To book the largest vacation home within your budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, SC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to pick the best rental home in Port Royal:

  • First, have your family choose date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Charming Port Royal Cottage - Parks & Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
